The Junior Piano festival has begun and is running smoothly. Our non-competitive performers from beginner to grade two are performing along with the competitive grade three to six classes. Join us at the Steinbach Cultural Arts Centre for our Awards Night on Thursday evening.
Musical Theatre is running at the SRSS. We have such talented singers and performers in our community!
We had a fantastic week of Senior Piano competitions and Awards Nights! Thank you to all our volunteers who contributed their time to make our week a success. A big thank you to all our donors as well. A special thanks to our Festival executive who put in much time and energy for this event.
HSD has cancelled classes for today, but our Senior Piano Festival will still run as scheduled. Please drive safe!
Keep checking our website for our class winners and other award winners. Listen to AM 1250 each weekday at 10:30 a.m. for a festival report.
On Saturday SEMF held our Strings/Instrumental festival and on Monday our Senior Piano begins at the SRSS Theatre. For $2.00/session, or $4.00/awards nights anyone can come to listen to the competitors, or buy a pass for $12.00 to attend as many sessions and awards nights you like.
It is February 1st and the SEMF program is now available for purchase. The cost is still only $7.00 at Musical Directions and the Steinbach Cultural Arts Centre.
We are excited that we have had an increase of entries for the 2011 Festival! However this meant that we needed to move our Speech/Theatre Arts to Grace Mennonite Church to allow the Vocal Festival to add another day of competition. Please take note of these changes.
Get your SEMF 2011 entries in now! Purchase your new Provincial Syllabus 2010 Edition for class numbers. Throw away the old Provincial Syllabus 2007 Edition as it is no longer valid. Remember to read our 2010-2011 SEMF Addendum for complete rules and regulations! Contact a Discipline Coordinator or another member of the SEMF Executive if you have questions.
SEMF is helping to raise a portion of the funds needed to refurbish the Baldwin grand piano at the Cultural Arts Centre. If you are interested in donating to this project send your cheques written to Southeastern Manitoba Festival to Box 3334, Steinbach, MB, R5G 1P6, designated grand piano project and you will receive a tax deductible receipt.
